Harmonix Wants People to Crowdfund Rock Band 4 PC

Right now, you can only play Rock Band 4 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Harmonix wants to change that. The developer has launched a crowdfunding campaign for a PC port of Rockband 4 on Fig .

Rock Band 4 on PC would basically be the same as the console versions of the game. You connect a microphone, guitar controller, and drum controller to your PC and play. The only difference is, you’d have access to the Rock Band Network that would let you add MIDIs to make your own user-generated content. You’d get to use Steam Workshop to submit files, which Harmonix would check, then sell them to other players so they could play them in-game.

Should you want to help make Rock Band 4 for PCs happen and get a copy of the game for your troubles, you’ll need to pledge at least $49. That’s the lowest tier that includes a copy of the game. It also adds 30 bonus songs, so you start out with a library of 95 tracks, the tools to make your own music files into tracks to put on the Steam Workshop, and A City Sleeps .

The goal is to reach $1.5 million by April 5, 2016. As of 11pm CT on March 1, just over $160,000 had been raised. Harmonix will kick in an additional $500,000 on its own to help cover development costs. Should the project happen, it’ll arrive on Steam in fall 2016.
