Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients Cheats & Cheat Codes for Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Windows, and More

Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients Cheats & Cheat Codes for Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Windows, and More

Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients Summary

I hate snakes! – Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Back when Indiana Jones first came out, it was a smash hit. From the charismatic Harrison Ford playing the role of Indiana Jones, to the iconic soundtrack, and the various traps and hazards set up in the movies. So, naturally, it was only a matter of time before video games were going to be made. Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients was one of the first Indiana Jones games. First released in 1987 by Mindscape Inc., following the release of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the game, not the movie. It is a text-based adventure game. To those unaware, a text-based game is akin to a Visual Novel, or a Choose Your Own Adventure story.

You type in what you want to do, like say, go north, and the text will respond to what you do. Usually either by advancing the plot, ending in failure, or simply stalling until you can enter a valid input. Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients received decent reviews at the time of its release, being considered one of the better Indiana Jones games.

Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients Premise

As expected of Dr. Jones, most of his best work is in the field. Sent by the US Army to investigate something called a Mazatec Power Key. Not much is known about it, beyond that it “controls” the pulses of the earth. He goes deep into the Mexican Jungle, hoping to locate it and find it before the Nazis do. One Nazi, in particular, has Jones’ ire. The doctor, Plebinheim. When Jones gets there, he finds he is already hunted by them. So now, it’s a race to find the key and uncover its mysteries. This text-based adventure takes Indy all over the jungle, encounters venomous snakes, shapeshifters, nazis, and so much more.

Indiana Jones in Revenge of the Ancients Cheat Codes

Since there are no cheat codes for this game (and remember, cheat codes are usually made purposefully by the developers themselves). Instead, let’s cover a few tips and tricks!

  • Be mindful of your actions. As this is a text-based adventure game, you can input your actions and get a response from the computer. However, while this is the norm, keep in mind, that you are in a hostile jungle, and your allies can aid or leave you depending on your actions.
  • Examine everything. As usual with old text adventures, nothing in the game was put there by accident. As such, you should examine everything you can. From ancient jungles to windows to stables and more.
  • Type in ALL CAPS. When entering a prompt, you will have to enter your words in all caps. For example, if you want to save, you will need to type SAVE. Remember, these are case sensitive!
