iOS Takes You To The Moon

iOS Takes You To The Moon

The Lunar series, primarily comprised of a pair of anime-infused entries on the ill-fated SEGA CD peripheral, has managed to develop a fervent fan base due to its stunning quality, engaging storyline, and constant rereleases (often updated) on a slew of more popular platforms. Most recently, the first game was almost completely redone for a PSP release as Lunar: Silver Star Harmony.

Now, the Lunar series is stretching for that broadest of user bases: iOS gamers. Lunar: Silver Star Story Touch, a rerelease of the first game in the Lunar series, is now available on both the iPhone and iPad for $6.99. It comes with animated cutscenes intact, touchscreen specific controls, and remastered audio.

If you’re craving a traditional JRPG experience to play during your daily bursts of inactivity, or while waiting in line for your iPhone 5, you could certainly do worse both on price and on quality than Lunar.
