Kingdom Come Deliverance Makes Its Way to PS4 and Xbox One

The Kickstarter for realistic medival RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance , is still going strong. With 41 hours to go, the team has nearly tripled its Kickstarter goal. This means that they have reached their console stretch goal, so the game will be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Or does it? For a while it seemed the project’s console future was a bit wibbly wobbly. After all, Sony and Microsoft still have to approve projects that will later be released on the PSN and the Xbox Marketplace. Luckily, they both seem to be on board. They have recently sent over devkits and, more importantly, they confirmed that the studio can self publish.

“While we never doubted our technical ability to do it, we were not sure about the actual publishing and distribution,” the development team said on Kickstarter. “In the last console generation, it just wasn’t possible to have a game on console without an official publisher.”

“In this generation it’s going to be different though. We had lot of discussion with both Microsoft and Sony in the past weeks and we are happy to announce that the game concept of Kingdom Come: Deliverance was approved by both Sony and Microsoft for the next-gen platforms (PS4 and Xbox One).”
