Steam is known for being a platform that people are prone to impulse buy on. Many people have huge Steam libraries that are largely untouched, due to things like Humble Bundles and Steam sales. Now, there is a website that will let you know just how much of an impulse buyer you are, and it’s called “How Long to Beat Steam.”
How Long to Beat Steam takes information from your Steam account and compiles statistics based on your playtime to figure out how long it would actually take you to beat, or 100% complete, your Steam library. You can calculate this either as an unresting uneating zombie who does nothing but plays Steam games, or as a normal person attempting to play at their normal gaming rates. Luckily for me, both of those answers have me surviving long after my library is complete.
However, it’s the other statistical tools this site gives you that I find most interesting. For example, it allows you to chart your entire library by genre, release date, and even review score. I consider myself primarily an RPG and strategy gamer, but my library is dominated primarily (and by primarily I mean 12 percent being the highest concentration) B action games. In addition, a little over half of my library had a Metacritic score over 75% and 31% of my library isn’t even rated on Metacritic.
