Don’t you love data miners? They come across the most interesting things in our games. In the case of Overwatch , they often give us a heads-up about new events. One such person, a Reddit user named Venxa, found out Overwatch might get a Christmas-themed event and arena mode in its new update, thanks to some new audio files.
The first audio file tweaks Overwatch’ s theme song . There are sleigh bells and a more festive feel to it. As you may recall, the Summer Games and Halloween events each had remixed themes. The other audio files have Athena, the announcer, talking about an Arena , gladiator , and challenger . As of right now, there’s nothing in the game that you could consider an arena, as well as no gladiator or challenger characters. There are also a number of new interactions between characters and Sombra, which is neat.
As someone new to Overwatch , I’m incredibly psyched about a Christmas event. Now that I’m playing, I can’t believe I missed out on getting that awesome Mercy Halloween skin. I wish I could be a witch, roaming around and aiding my allies on the battlefield!
