According to N’Gai Croal of Newsweek’s gaming blog Level Up, a partnership between God of War II director Cory Barlog and writer-director-producer of the Mad Max films George Miller will soon bear fruit. The first game to come from them will be a Mad Max action-adventure game, “inspired by the “Mad Max: Fury Road” movie that Miller had been preparing to shoot in 2003 before the war in Iraq forced him to put everything on hold.”
Mr. Miller had been approached to make Mad Max games by virtually every publisher, but he always felt that such a game would be empty action with no quality. Since his partnership with Cory Barlog, Miller has seen the possibilities of games as a viable storytelling medium. The level of interactivity that games give to the audience is unparalleled and now seems like the right time to develop an action/adventure masterpiece.
