Mario Kart 8 Announced At Nintendo Pre-E3 Event

Nintendo just announced the newest title in the Mario Kart series: Mario Kart 8. It appears as if all the racers still have all their tricks from Mario Kart 7, including the ability to glide and race on the water. However, this time around, the game decides to screw with gravity a bit. Each kart is now equipped with an anti-gravity device that lets them drive upside down. As a result, many tracks are now two sided, allowing you to race along them like a Mobius strip. It also allows racers to choose what paths they want to take by driving up the walls and ceilings of tunnels.

Other familiar game aspects will be returning to the franchise as well. Boosts how have three levels to go through. Players can choose bikes, like in Mario Kart Wii. The game will feature a full online suite, larger than any other Mario Kart title. Mario Kart 8 will launch in Spring 2014 on the Wii U.
