It’s time for a new Soulcalibur VI character reveal, and it’s another legacy character returning to the battle of swords and souls. Maxi, the nunchaku and pomade-wielding pirate is making his return to the series. He’s based loosely on Bruce Lee and is a very beginner-friendly character, historically.
Maxi made his original debut in Soulcalibur , so he’s not one of the Soul Edge originals. Still, his easy, flashy combo ability that mixes highs and lows with simple button presses have made him quite popular. Like many of the other characters, Maxi’s return sees a new design, but one based on his roots. Also, the new trailer calls him the Dandy of the Seas, which kinda rules.
Maxi joins a growing stable of returning characters currently comprising Taki, Mitsurugi, Ivy, Siegfried, Yoshimitsu, Zasalamel, Kilik, Nightmare, Xianghua, and Sophitia. Soulcalibur VI is still set for an as of yet unannounced date in 2018, and will be launching for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
