According to the official Electronic Arts (EA) website, the new Medal of Honor game for consoles and PC “has set a new franchise record, hitting the highest number of pre-sell units in the franchise’s 11-year history.” What does that mean in actual dollars and cents? We’re not exactly sure. The self-published news story doesn’t make clear whether or not this record-breaking event is a measure of pre-orders of the game or merely the number of units shipped to retailers. Considering the PC version of the game is listed as being available only via download, the claim becomes even further clouded.  The new Medal of Honor doesn’t officially release until October 12, leaving ample room for EA to tout the franchise’s “pre-sell” record with another undisclosed number. |
