Media Molecule Unveils New PS Move 3D Crafting Demo

Media Molecule Unveils New PS Move 3D Crafting Demo

At the PS4 conference, it was revealed that the system would include a stereoscopic camera (much like the Xbox Kinect). The camera, a sequel to the PlayStation Eye, will be able to sense depth, which will allow the console to map ludicrously accurate movements.

Media Molecule showed off what the console was capable of by creating a 3D sculpting application. Instead of causing you to go through tools in a menu, the technology used the PS Move controller, along with the stereoscopic camera, to allow players to reach into the virtual world and start molding. You can easily drag, drop, chisel, and carve your sculpture by simply waving the move controllers. The demo showed off several impressive structures made by the media molecule team.

The 3D demo wasn’t announced as a part of a game yet, but this is Media Molecule we are talking about. While they may not be working on LittleBigPlanet anymore, it’s only a matter of time until they figure out a way to let you share your new sculpted creations on the PS4.
