Mega Man Universe Announced

Mega Man Universe Announced

None

Mega Man’s last two downloadable titles, Mega Man 9 and 10, were great continuations of the classic Mega Man series that fans have come to know and love. However, rather than just making Mega Man 11, Capcom looks like they’ll be trying something different with their newly announced PSN and XBLA game, Mega Man Universe.

In the announcement Kenji Inafune, Head of Research and Development Management for Capcom Entertainment, stated “We are thrilled to finally be able to announce Mega Man Universe. This game will break the mold and challenge the conventional wisdom of what a Mega Man game can be. When fans finally get to see it, I believe they’ll envision their most far-out Mega Man dreams coming true.”

If the announcement trailer is any indication, these statements are well founded. At one point Mega Man turns into Ryu and throws a patented Hadouken. While this trailer was cryptic and a tad bizarre, the idea of Mega Man being able to turn into other beloved Capcom characters is an intriguing prospect.
