Inafune Was Willing To Finish Legends 3

None

For a while now, Mega Man Legends fans have been blaming Keiji Inafune’s departure from Capcom on the eventual death of Mega Man Legends 3. It turns out, however, that Inafune was actually being rather cool about his Mega Man projects before he left the company. Inafune did, in fact, claim to hate his job at Capcom, but he was still willing to complete his active projects for his friends. Before he left, he offered to complete Mega Man Legends 3 under contract, and possibly even Mega Man Universe. He even said he wouldn’t start making contracts with other companies until his work with Capcom was over.

And guess what? Capcom said “no.” The absurdly supportive Mega Man Legends 3 Facebook page unearthed an article that revealed Capcom specifically said “we have no need for that.” Inafune said he even planned on supporting Capcom from outside the company. He didn’t like his position at the company but he still wanted to see his projects to completion. Inafune said, “I wanted to leave Capcom to recharge my energy, and support Capcom from there, but it seems they don’t allow it.”

So if you are going to blame anyone, blame the new Capcom upper brass that thought Inafune’s contracted outside game development services were worthless.
