For a while now, Mega Man Legends fans have been blaming Keiji Inafune’s departure from Capcom on the eventual death of Mega Man Legends 3. It turns out, however, that Inafune was actually being rather cool about his Mega Man projects before he left the company. Inafune did, in fact, claim to hate his job at Capcom, but he was still willing to complete his active projects for his friends. Before he left, he offered to complete Mega Man Legends 3 under contract, and possibly even Mega Man Universe. He even said he wouldn’t start making contracts with other companies until his work with Capcom was over. ![]()
So if you are going to blame anyone, blame the new Capcom upper brass that thought Inafune’s contracted outside game development services were worthless. By Angelo M. D’Argenio |
