When Keiji Inafune left Capcom, he left many projects unfinished. Many of you remember Inafune as the father of Mega Man, and no franchise is hurting more from his departure. Recently, we heard that development on Mega Man Universe would be canceled, and now we are hearing that Mega Man Legends 3, the much awaited sequel to the beloved 3D Mega Man franchise, will be canceled as well, leaving the 3DS with a serious lack of Mega Man games. A few months ago, Capcom said that they would release a community-driven prototype project that would allow 3DS owners to participate in game development by not only beta-testing but also by suggesting new features that should go into the game. Heck, we even heard rumors that users had a chance to get their own custom Mega Man Legends characters in the final game as NPCs. Now, Capcom is saying that the game did not meet “the required criteria” necessary to continue development.
