Mega Man Turns 25; Fans Can Rejoice!

None

Mega Man fans have had it rough lately, what with the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 and Mega Man Universe, the departure of Keiji Inafune from Capcom, and the snubbing of Mega Man in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and its Ultimate update (as well as his less-than-flattering DLC representation in Street Fighter X Tekken).

Mega Fans, though, are a resilient lot and, despite no word of any new game in any of the Blue Bomber’s varied series in the past year or so, one felt it prudent to ask about Capcom’s 25th anniversary plans for the running-and-gunning robot. The question, fielded during a Capcom live-stream with the newly departed Seth Killian , was met with the tentative assurance that Mega Man 25th anniversary news would be released in December of this year.

It’s not confirmation of anything, and it is abundantly clear that Street Fighter and other franchises are Capcom’s primary focus right now (such as pushing out that new DmC title), but the Blue Bomber’s ardent following may have something to cheer about six months down the line.
