Street Fighter Hits You With 25 Years Worth Of Goodies

None

Capcom has been good about celebrating Street Fighter’s major anniversaries the last decade or so. For the fifteenth, there was the Street Fighter Anniversary collection, which brought Street Fighter III: Third Strike and Hyper Street Fighter II to the Xbox and PlayStation 2. Around twenty years in, both Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix were released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Now we’ve hit 25 years, and Capcom’s ready to go all out for its quarter-century celebration.

Enter the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set, a $150 package that includes not only Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition and recent release Street Fighter X Tekken (both with all DLC), but downloadable titles Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition. Additionally, the package has an eleven disc soundtrack, which includes arrangements by the fans and remixes; a Street Fighter documentary, again focused on the fans, as well as the Street Fighter IV and Super SFIV anime movies, Street Fighter Animated Series (Street Fighter II V?) and the Street Fighter II animated movie included in the Xbox and PS2 Anniversary Collection.

Still not enough? How ‘bout a hardcover artbook, an 8-inch tall, light up stature of Ryu throwing a Shoryuken, and the protagonist’s black belt, full-sized and bearing the Furinkazan symbols he’s made famous?

The collection comes to North America on September 18, and will release in only limited quantities. The actual gaming content is probably superfluous for any hardcore Street Fighter fan, who’s liable to have it all already, but what surrounds it is, in essence, the history of the entire series. Is that worth $150 to you?
