Metal Gear Solid 4 Gains Full Install Ability, Trophies

None

Metal Gear Solid 4: a game that launched in a world without trophies back when Sony hadn’t yet decided that an achievement-esque system was a core requirement for an online-enabled, multiplayer device. That changed and, in the years since, patches have occasionally rolled out for existing games that have introduced trophy support to the once-untrophied.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be getting them in its next patch. Consider it a consolation prize for Konami having taken down the title’s multiplayer servers.

Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, the patch will include full-install support, allowing one to perform the entire installation ahead of time, rather than waiting for the game to cache data between chapters. This patch is expected to hit in early August, around the same time as a budget re-release of the title that includes the full-install functionality by default.
