Konami executive Kazumi Kitaue, head of Konami North America and European ops, has stated that Metal Gear Solid 4 may be ported to other consoles (read Xbox 360). He stated that the move would be necessary to recoup the development costs and that he didn’t think that the price cut for the PS3 would be enough to turn Sony’s situation around.
“I don’t expect a substantial impact … with $500, you can buy a person computer,” Kitaue said concerning the PS3 price cut. “I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just USD 100.”
“Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps.” Kitaue further stated on MGS4 console exclusivity.
This comes as another blow for Sony, who has lost numerous exclusives since the PlayStation 3 launched, including big titles like Mercenaries 2, Devil May Cry 4, and Grand Theft Auto IV.
