Mortal Kombat Becomes Special

None

Mortal Kombat is all over the place right now. The announcement of Kratos appearing in the PlayStation 3 version of the game, and now the (more than likely true) rumor of Call of Duty characters and Gears of War characters also making it into the game, seem to mean only one thing. You can’t keep a good fatality down. And what is the best way to show your gratitude towards a game this generation?

Why with a special edition of course. Today it was revealed that we will be treated to a standard edition, a glorified, more-expensive Kollector’s Edition, and a Tournament Edition. The Kollector’s Edition will have Sub-Zero and Scorpion figurines, an art book, and exclusive DLC costumes, while the Tournament edition will have more DLC exclusives and something called “portable fighting stick.”

I am sure more than half of you are already considering which version to get, and any more pressure about the upcoming title might cause your brain to explode. If this is true, you should look away now. In addition to the three separate versions, you will also have to figure out where you want to preorder the title. Amazon will be offering “Klassic Reptile” and his original, Fatality, as a playable character. Best Buy has Sub-Zero, and GameStop has Scorpion. Both of these will also be in their classic forms and with their original fatalities.

Mortal Kombat is set to make April bloody, so you still have plenty of time to decide.
