According to Midway’s CEO David Zucker, Mortal Kombat will be released sometime in 2008. He revealed the title’s existence in an investor’s conference call with investors. No details have yet been confirmed as to the name or key features, but it will be a fully published release and not just a revamped download. During the call, Zucker told investors that Midway will concentrate on quality titles rather than quantity: “…our focus really is not so much on the number of games as it is on creating games that are going to breakthrough and doing a better job of that historically. Games like This Is Vegas, and of course, you’ve got Mortal Kombat game this year, and others that we think have potential to give us higher unit numbers.” As long as we don’t have to enter a blood code and there is a vast array of hilarious finishing moves, we’ll be psyched!
