MTV Games, which bought Rock Band developer Harmonix in 2006, has announced plans to sell the developer after only four years of acquisition. Though no official reason was given for the announcement, there’s plenty of speculation about waning interest in the rhythm/music genre and the lackluster sales of last year’s Rock Band: The Beatles. In a statement this morning Harmonix urged fans not to worry about the sale, as they would continue to make Rock Band games. They also noted that there are already several potential buyers on the horizon. EA, anyone?  |
