Multi-Million Dollar Homestuck Adventure Game Updates Users After Long Absence

Multi-Million Dollar Homestuck Adventure Game Updates Users After Long Absence

On October 4 th , 2012, Andrew Hussie received almost 2.5 million dollars to create an adventure game based around his long going internet webcomic, Homestuck . It has been two years since the project was funded, and we still have very little info. Hussie himself has taken a year off from updating the popular webcomic in order to focus on the game, and develop the comic’s finale. It too has not updated for almost a year, and has only recently started updating once more, once every two days.

Along with these updates comes an info dump on the adventure game. Hussie showed us some concept sketches for environments in the game, as well as some test animations for one of the main characters, Joey. He also told us about the release plans for the game, including its two part episodic format. Each part will be its own unique storyline and each storyline will be separated into multiple episodes. However, he could not give a final episode count at this time.

He also said that the game will take place sometime before the events of Homestuck , specifically before 2009 Earth and Present Day Alternia. He also said that the events of the game will be Homestuck canon and will tie into the webcomic itself.

For more information, head on over to the official Kickstarter update page. This is only the third game update we have received from Hussie, the second hitting in the middle of the summer this year, and the first hitting at the end of 2013. So it’s safe to assume it will be some time before the game is finished.
