Multiple Shaq Fu Trademarks Filed By Mine O’Mine

There have been several rumors surrounding a sequel Shaq Fu. Originally, the parent company that owns Shaq.com, Mine O’Mine, registered a trademark for Shaqfighter. This alone lead many fans to believe a Shaq Fu sequel was coming, but now the company is being even more blatant. Mine O’Mine has registered four different trademarks for Shaq Fu, the name of the original game. The trademarks cover video games, computer software, video game characters, electronics, action games, playing cards, and online games. Essentially they own everything you need to own if you want to a new video game release.

Many of these could be protective trademarks. But if that’s the case, why trademark the old name as well? Also, why file so many trademarks at once? This is the type of behavior that we only see when a company is looking to put out a new game, but it’s still hard to believe that Shaq Fu is really getting a sequel.
