As has come to be expected, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will have downloadable map packs. Keeping in line with previous entries in the series, these maps will be available first on Xbox LIVE. What is new and interesting, however, is that Infinity Ward is not simply dropping a map pack. No, Modern Warfare 3’s DLC is also slated to include new Spec Ops missions, as well as “a variety of things that players have never seen before,” according to Robert Bowling, creative strategist at Infinity Ward. Considering Spec Ops was undoubtedly my favorite part of the game, the prospect of additional missions that further explore it’s the unique flavor of asymmetrical co-op is enough to make me eye my copy of the game longingly.
