Myst Coming To 3DS

Myst Coming To 3DS

None

The acclaimed PC adventure game Myst is coming to the 3DS. If you’re not familiar with this 1993 masterpiece, it was a point-and-click adventure game that let players solve puzzles and explore an long-abandoned island with a mysterious history.

Here are some details, according to a press release by Maximum Family Games.

The new Myst for Nintendo 3DS, developed by Hoplite Research, LLC,introduces the first-person fantasy universe to players not yet acquainted with the series, and gives veteran gamers extra content to explore with new landscapes and with the RIME Age added to enhance the Myst storyline. As in the original Myst, players will solve puzzles, explore their surroundings and interact with items and objects that deliver clues from which players must piece together answers in order to move ahead and solve the mysteries that lie within.

Of course, the new Myst will be done in total stereoscopic 3D. As a former PC Myst player myself, I can’t deny that this will be awesome. Not only that, but the 3DS version will include the RIME age, which was not included in the original release. There will even be 3D-oriented puzzles to solve.

“The original Myst for PC systems was a groundbreaking game that brought the fantasy-adventure genre to mainstream casual gaming,” said Len Ciciretto, President of MFG. “The new Myst honors that history by reintroducing this well-known franchise to younger generations.”

Be on the lookout for Myst on the 3DS when it drops on March 27th, 2012.
