Naughty Dog Hopes Uncharted 4 Will Be the Definitive Sequel

There’s been no shortage of buzz surrounding the release of Uncharted 4 ever since it debuted at last year’s E3. Now Naughty Dog is revealing they have BIG plans for what many expect to be Drake’s final chapter.

During a recent interview with Game Informer, co-director Bruce Straley expressed his interests in evolving Uncharted and pushing the game’s mechanics forward in the next-generation. “Making Uncharted 4 is hard. Making every game is really hard. It’s never easy. Where’s the blueprint? Who’s got the f**king blueprint to make these things? We’re constantly questioning how to do this better. We’re driven by … we want to create an experience that resonates with the player, and what we’re trying to do is create amazingly rich characters and an adventure that these characters can go on. All these things have to make sense and they have to click together with the controller in your hand. And I want to feel engaged.” He says.

He also goes on to reassure long-time fans the game won’t take too much of a darker tone, as he tells people to “… calm down. Just take a breath. We’re retaining the lightheartedness; it’s Nathan Drake.”

Uncharted 4 is scheduled to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 by the end of 2015.
