Uncharted 4’s DLC Will Not Just Be Content Cut from Campaign

Uncharted 4’s DLC Will Not Just Be Content Cut from Campaign

When Naughty Dog announced that there would be single player DLC for the upcoming release of Uncharted 4 around a month ago, fans took to social networks and comment sections to voice concern. There’s a dominant theory in the gaming community that when DLC is planned for a game, it is more often than not just single player content that was cut from the main game. In an interview with Gamespot, Naughty Dog communications director, Arne Meyer, clarified that this simply wasn’t the case.

In fact, Naughty Dog really doesn’t know what to expect for the DLC. The company has long been of the belief that they’re only going to tell Nathan Drake’s story if it feels right and the plot arcs make sense. They are pretty sure that Uncharted 4 is where that story is going to end. Meyer’s stated that when he spoke to the game’s director, he was told “I have no idea what we’re going to do with that.”

The company is currently very busy with the game itself, and hasn’t had much time to think about the production of the DLC. All they know is that they want to include some, and want to tell a compelling story through it. We’ll have to wait until the game is out in March of 2016 to even begin reasonably speculating as to what we can expect from the DLC.
