New Cast Joins Star Wars Sequel Ranks

New Cast Joins Star Wars Sequel Ranks

It would appear our beloved galaxy located oh so far away is becoming more and more crowded with each passing week!

It was recently announced that both Pip Anderson and Crystal Clarke will join the already packed cast of the upcoming Star Wars sequel Episode VII . After an open casting all, here is what Lucasfilm had to say regarding the two relatively unknown actors: “Crystal Clarke is an American actress studying in Glasgow, UK, who has both stage and screen acting experience and is soon to be seen in her first feature, “The Moon and the Sun” (to be released in 2015). British actor Pip Anderson is a skilled practitioner of parkour, a discipline that involves propelling oneself through any given environment with incredible grace and agility. Pip recently demonstrated this remarkable skill in a Spider-Man ad for Sony.”

There are many Star Wars traditions surrounding production, not the least of which involves featuring up and coming stars (beginning when George Lucas was forced to cut corners while making the original). Current head Kathleen Kennedy states the saga has always revolved around “…discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many traveled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film.”

The current movie is slated for a December release of next year, with other Star Wars related projects in the works.
