New Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter Frontier G, Announced at Tokyo Game Show

Ever since the Vita launched, gamers have been asking when it was going to get its very own installment of Monster Hunter . At every event, attendees wondered if there would be giant monsters to slay. Thanks to the latest news from the 2013 Tokyo Game Show, people can stop asking. Monster Hunter is finally here in the form of a PS3 and Vita iteration called Monster Hunter Frontier G.

Monster Hunter Frontier G will be a bit different than previous installments, as it will have multiple worlds, each with different monsters, for players to explore. The Vita version will have Worlds A and B, while the PS3 will have Worlds A, B, and C. Both versions can be played online, with up to four people forming a party to fight ginormous creatures together. The save data between the two incarnations is also compatible, so a person can continue their adventures at home on their Vita, and vice versa.

Monster Hunter Frontier G is already available in Japan on both the Xbox 360 and Windows PC. The PS3 and Wii U versions were revealed earlier, with the former scheduled for a November 20, 2013 release and the latter coming out December 11, 2013. The Vita version will be the last to appear, with a tentative 2014 release window. Capcom hasn’t said anything about a worldwide release, but the PS3 and Vita versions of Monster Hunter Frontier G will be region-free, so dedicated fans can import copies.
