New Pokemon, Mario Coming to NX Soon After Launch

New Pokemon, Mario Coming to NX Soon After Launch

Where are all of these Nintendo inside sources coming from lately?! It’s like a trigger was pulled and now everywhere you look there’s a new leak or lead. Today the latest bit of NX goodness comes courtesy of UK trade publication MCV , which claims its sources (or maybe there’s just one, serial informant) have stated that the NX launch lineup is looking outstanding. Supposedly we can expect new Mario and Pokemon games around launch time.

By “around launch time” I mean within six months of the NX’s launch next March. We know Breath of the Wild is scheduled to be a launch title as well, so things are looking pretty good for Nintendo’s Q1 2017. I should note, too, that the Pokemon game will be coming from developer Game Freak, and would be Game Freak’s first console-bound Pokemon game (assuming we’re counting the NX as a console).

MCV’s sources also stated that Eurogamer’s NX leak was “100% accurate,” so I think it’s safe to assume at this point that the NX is in fact some kind of handheld / console hybrid running off of a Tegra chip. Nintendo has also, reportedly, been very busy securing third-party support for the NX, with Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision, and Warner Bros. already on board. Whoever these sources are, I hope they’re getting paid well, and I hope that we hear from them again soon. The NX is sounding more appealing with every rumor!
