New PS4 Bug Is Corrupting Save Files and Breaking Apps

PS4 users are reporting a brand new error that is wreaking havoc on their games. The error, called CE-34878-0, not only causes games to crash, it also totally borks save files. The error has been reported in games like FIFA 14, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2k14, and Battlefield 4 . Some users are even reporting that all of their save files are being effected, causing them to start all over from square one!

There is no catch all fix for the bug yet. Sony recommends that users install all latest patches in order to minimize the bug’s appearance, but even that hasn’t totally fixed the problem. What’s even more frustrating is that no one seems to understand what the bug means! It just appears randomly when trying to play games and load up apps. In fact, some users are reporting that their apps are completely unable to open after encountering the bug.

At this point, there is nothing left to do but wait and hope that Sony fixes the problem. We will bring you more information about the bug as it becomes available.
