Nielsen Says Wii Is the Least Used Console; Xbox 360 the Leader

According to the Nielsen Ratings blog on The State of Video Gaming, the Nintendo Wii is the least used console at a 6.8% active usage percent. The GameCube scores higher at a 7.9%. The Xbox 360 is the leader at 11.4%, with the PS3 a close second at 10.6%

The blog’s PDF explains, “The active user percent tells us how often a person used their console out of the total amount of time the console could have been used during the measurement period. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are the most used consoles with the highest active user percent. The Wii owner’s have the fewest average usage days and the shortest daily average number of sessions.”
