Ninja Turtles Set to Shell Out Some Action on May 24

The Ninja Turtles hold a special place in my heart. When I was a kid I loved the 1990 live-action movie, the TMNT Saturday-morning cartoon was a regular part of my weekend, and I had a bucket-full of TMNT action figures which always turned bath time into turtle time. When it comes to video games, are there any among you who don’t remember Turtles in Time fondly? This incredible track record makes it really hard for me to forgive Jonathan Liebesman and Michael Bay for what they’ve done to this franchise, and I’m sad to say that we haven’t had a great TMNT video game since the SNES days.

Hopefully Platinum Games can change that. The highly esteemed Japanese developer has been working on its own Ninja Turtles game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan , and it looks to be a fun, action-packed throwback to the days of old. It’s a tall order, but if anyone can do it I know Platinum can; just look at Transformers: Devastation. I’d never thought I’d be looking forward to another Ninja Turtles video game, but I’ll be budgeting to pick this up when it comes out on May 24. Here’s the announcement trailer if you haven’t seen it already:
