This is a friendly reminder that Nintendo will not be having a press conference this year at E3. Instead, we’ll be finding out about their biggest games for the expo during the next Nintendo Direct. While the broadcast hasn’t been dated just yet, we have learned several details.
Using the hashtag #IwataSays , Nintendo of America’s Twitter account revealed that the next Nintendo Direct will take place before E3. Iwata will discuss Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, 3D Mario, and several other Wii U titles. While there’s plenty more in the pipeline that we already know about, like The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2, don’t be surprised if several new games are announced. After all, the E3-related Nintendo Direct serves as their unofficial press conference. With both Microsoft and Sony taking to the stage on the eve of E3, Nintendo needs to find a way to steal their thunder.
