What is Sheik? Is Zelda using a spell to turn into a guy? Is she just a girl in Ninja clothing? This is a debate that has raged on for a very long time by serious fans of the Zelda franchise. However, Nintendo has finally come forth with a definitive answer. “The definitive answer is that Sheik is a woman — simply Zelda in a different outfit.”
This has been a depressing blow for several fans who were attached to the idea of Zelda using magic to become a completely different person. However, at the same time, it establishes Sheik as a strong female character from the days of the N64.
