Nintendo Launches European 3D Video Service

Nintendo Launches European 3D Video Service

None

Up until the 3DS was released, Nintendo was pushing the console hard as more than just a gaming machine. For two E3s in a row now, we were promised 3D movies and a downloadable music service, but currently neither service is live here in America. That doesn’t mean we won’t be getting it though, because similar services are popping up in other territories.

Japan received a 3D video service update for the 3DS shortly after the handheld released, and we all looked on with jealousy as the Japanese gaming public got to watch their bizarre game shows on the 3DS.

Tomorrow, Europe will also be getting a 3D video service with its own region-specific media content included. We would assume North America would be following shortly, but we still haven’t heard anything about a solid release date. All we know is that the North American service should launch before summer’s end, according to Nintendo.

I can’t wait to watch Transformers 3 in 3D HD on the 3DS. Sure, I’ll hate myself for watching another Michael Bay Transformers movie, but at least it will look cool in 3D.
