While we here in the US have been able to enjoy Netflix streaming and DVD rentals by mail, not everyone in North America has been so lucky. Fortunately, the long ignored potential Netflix customers in Canada will soon finally have the chance to enjoy these services as well. Well, at least one of them anyway.  According to a press release from Netflix, this fall Canadians will be getting the option to subscribe to the company’s first “streaming-only service.” The press release states “Canadian Netflix members will be able to instantly watch a broad array of movies and TV episodes right on their TVs via a range of consumer electronics devices capable of streaming from Netflix, as well as watching on PCs and Macs”. While no gaming consoles were mentioned specifically, chances are they will fall into the “range of consumer electronics devices” discussed in the release. Also, while the service will initially only be made available in English, they expect to release a French version at a later date. |
