Nintendo’s Pokemon Bank Stores Pokemon Online

Nintendo’s Pokemon Bank Stores Pokemon Online

Do you still have your original Charizard from Pokemon Red? If so, then we give you props, as you have had to jump through hoop after hoop to transfer it from the Gameboy, to the Gameboy Advance, to the DS, to the 3DS, through title after title after title. Luckily, all of this finagling with link cables, ranch apps, and console connectivity will be a thing of the past as Nintendo has announced its newest Pokemon-related service, Pokemon Bank.

Pokemon Bank is essentially cloud storage for Pokemon. Every player’s personal-bank server can store up to 3000 Pokemon in 100 different boxes. Bank also comes with a number of search tools allowing you to find the exact Pokemon you want, even if you have flooded your boxes with Bidoofs. You will be able to organize and interact with your Pokemon from any PC or directly from the Nintendo 3DS. You will even be able to transfer your Pokemon from Pokemon Black and White (1 and 2) to your Pokemon Bank with a special Pokemon Bank transfer app.

Pokemon Bank will be the preferred method of storing Pokemon for generations to come. That means, no matter what new Pokemon title comes out, Pokemon Bank will be able to store its Pokemon for you. Sounds great, right? Well, there’s a catch. Pokemon Bank does come with an as-of-yet-unknown annual fee. So if you want to catch ’em all, you are gonna have to pay.
