NVIDIA’s SHIELD Release Details Revealed

NVIDIA’s SHIELD Release Details Revealed

The NVIDIA SHIELD will be launching in June of this year with a price tag of $349. The unit will be available at Newegg, Micro Center, GameStop, and Canada Computers. SHIELD will come packaged with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1, but will require a day one firmware update, like most new systems. It will also come with games Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 and Expendable: Rearmed. The unit will be able to stream PC games via Steam’s Big Picture mode right out of the box, though NVIDIA has stated that this functionality is still in its Beta phase.

Unfortunately, an exact release date for the SHIELD could not be pinned down, but with pre-orders starting May 20th, a date will likely soon be announced.
