Origin Offers Discounts After All

None

Just a couple weeks after EA’s Origin boss David DeMartini claimed chief rival Steam’s deep-discounting software sales “cheapen intellectual property,” the service has announced they will be selling select titles at massive discounts.

The new FloorPrice sale sees discounts such as Dead Space 2, Spore, Darksiders, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 all being sold for 75% off, while Dragon Age: Origins is being sold for a whopping 87% off. Other deals include half off for the likes of Mirror’s Edge, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and others, and 66% off for Alice: Madness Returns and Darkspore.

While those are some great deals, the sale is nonetheless surprising considering DeMartini’s previous, seemingly adamant stance on sales like these, even going so far as to state “We won’t be doing that.” Even still, players would be wise to take advantage of the discounts while they can.
