Blizzard fans know that the company is not going anywhere any time soon. They make so much money every single year, and the games under their umbrella are uber successful. They usually have the numbers to back this success up and now is no different. Blizzard’s Overwatch just recently overcame the 30 million registered users mark, which is an impressive number to begin with. They recently released though that Blizzard brought their parent company Activision $441 million in the first quarter of this year. That is an insane amount of cash! Overwatch itself has brought in over a billion dollars since its launch. This makes it the 8th Activision/Blizzard franchise to amass over a billion dollars. It’s impressive really.
In other Blizzard and Overwatch news, the company and the game are showing that they take regulations seriously. There is a recent one enacted in China that requires companies to announce their loot box probabilities. Blizzard made a Chinese statement saying that every Overwatch loot box has at least one Rare item. Every 5.5 boxes will contain an Epic item, while every 13.5 boxes will include a Legendary.
It’s possible that these loot box numbers are different in other regions, but it’s safe to say they’re probably pretty similar at least. So thanks China for allowing the rest of the world the answer to their burning probability question as well! The more you know!
