Do you have an online moniker you regret? Maybe you made your tag back when you were young or you’ve changed in the years since? Blizzard understands and is taking a cue from Microsoft. You can now change your BattleTag, just like how Microsoft lets you switch your Gamertag.
Also like Microsoft, Blizzard is charging a fee for this service. Well, after the first time. You’re allowed one BattleTag name change for free. For every change after that, you’ll need to pay $10 for one-time BattleTag name change. In case you’re curious, that’s exactly what Microsoft charges too.
It’s a good system. I’d do it. Hell, if Sony offered such a thing, I’d make that change right now. When I made my PSN ID, I didn’t know online gaming would be so pervasive. I had received a PlayStation Portable as a gift, made a name with it a year after, and now wish I hadn’t had numbers in my ID. This sort of service is a must, and it’s nice Blizzard offers it.
