Play-Asia, an online retailer specializing in imports from Japan and other Asian territories, but also selling European and North American products, is running a big summer sale event. Called the ultimate Summer Sale, the site is boasting over 4000 products on sale for up to 90% off.
The sale is all over the place, including video games, to consoles, accessories, toys, and other kinds of products. Play-Asia sells shirts, lifestyle products like mugs, music albums, and more. You can even get digital marketplace cards, which often are a premium-priced way to circumvent credit card restrictions for making region-free import purchases through the Nintendo eShop or PlayStation Store for example. Both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch allow people to have Japanese, Asian, and European accounts on North American systems.
A more recent fad is Asian releases of games, like the recently-released Super Robot Wars X actually having English subtitles (for areas like Southeast Asia). That game, for example, is on sale right now for $55. That seems not far from normal retail price for a new game, but imports often run well over the usual sixty bucks. So it’s a pretty solid deal to get a brand new release for less.
In addition, it is a way to get the much-talked-about Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 . The PlayStation 4 and Vita Asian versions of the game both have English language options. They’re part of this sale too and mark a means of getting a game that was never allowed outside of Japan for your system.
