PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds is a battle royale game developed by PUBG Studios, released in 2017. The game was initially a mod for DayZ, which was a mod for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead, and inspired by the Japanese film Battle Royal. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, PUBG for short, has the classic PVP battle royal deathmatch style of gameplay that has become so popular in recent years. One hundred players are dropped onto a map, and they fight to the death with an array of weapons. The last man standing wins the game. Players search buildings for guns, grenades, armor, vehicles, etc., and loot dead enemies for equipment. To keep the game moving and to make sure it doesn’t last too long, the map will begin to close every few minutes slowly. Players outside of these zones will die if they stay too long. And while it may make sense to stay on the outskirts, away from everyone, the best equipment is usually located in high-population areas.
Battle Royals are known for their replayability since each match will never be the same, and the chase for victory can be addicting. PUBG has a total of nine maps, of which five are active during a season, adding to the replayability of the game.

PUBG has two different character systems depending on the device used. Most players will use character customization, meaning your avatar is the main character.
