Possible Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Plot Summary Revealed

Possible Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Plot Summary Revealed

Mark Laidlaw, a former Valve employee who was heavily involved in the Half-Life series, released what fans believe to be a plot synopsis for the long-desired Half-Life 2: Episode 3 on his personal website. The bog post, titled “Epistle 3,” changes names of characters and locations, but the blanks are easy enough to fill in for longtime Half-Life fans.

It’s not entirely clear what this piece is, in terms of how reflective it is of what would be the final Half-Life 2: Episode 3 (at this point in a parallel universe where it does exist). Laidlaw left Valve in early 2016. There’s no telling if what he posted is based on what the general idea was for the whole team or his personal vision.

That said, the Half-Life community on Reddit noted that the NDA anyone would have signed for work on Half-Life 2 should be expired now, as ten years have passed. Laidlaw would be within his rights to share his work at this point. Perhaps this is his way of doing so without totally revealing all the cards.

As for the summar, it involves Gertie Fremont speaking about the events of his previous letter, Epistle 2. He goes into how Elly Vaunt’s death shook the Research & Rebellion team, but her son Alex pressed them to continue. They used Dr. Maas’ Antartic coordinates to find the Hyperborea to keep it fromm the Disparate. Want to know more? Read Laidlaw’s Epistle 3 !
