XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now available for pre-purchase on Steam, and it sports a neat little rewards system that varies depending on how many others pre-order the game. The more people that pre-order Firaxis’ upcoming strategy title, the more rewards that everyone will get.
Tier one gets everyone the Elite Solider Pack, which includes a classic soldier character, some aesthetic upgrades to their soldiers’ armor, and the ability to completely customize the colors of all their squad’s armor. Tier two nets you all of the above, plus three special XCOM-related items for use in Team Fortress 2. Tier three, meanwhile, gets everyone all that, plus a free copy of Civilization V.
As of this writing, the game is about 70% of the way to completing tier one.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is out October 9 on Steam, and costs $49.99.
