PSN Now Selling Extended Warranties

PSN Now Selling Extended Warranties

None

Earlier in the year Sony announced they were getting into the extended warranty business, providing PlayStation 3 and PSP owners with the option to purchase longer warranties for their systems directly from the company that made them. This was called the PlayStation Protection Plan, and apparently, they are now making this offer available over PSN (via 1Up).

On the PlayStation Store you’ll be able to find the PlayStation Protection Plan in two varieties, either a one or two year extension. One year will run you $44.99, while two years is comparatively cheaper coming in at $59.99. However, PlayStation Plus subscribers can currently get a deal on the two year plan, paying $44.99 for a two year warranty. Unfortunately for early adopters, the PlayStation Protection Plan is only for warranty extensions, so your console must currently be under warranty in order to sign up for these plans.
