The free-to-play, online, gridiron strategy title, Quickhit Football, has become the official online game of the NFL.

The browser-based title will incorporate the NFL license for the 2010-2011 season, and will allow you to recreate your favorite NFL team complete with logos, relevant characteristics, and real players and coaches from yesterday and today.

The reason this news is so important is that EA has had exclusivity on the NFL license for the past several, essentially monopolizing the football category.  Perhaps this is a sign that the NFL is looking to branch out once again?
