Razer Responds To Faulty Discount Code With Extreme Customer Service

It wasn’t very long ago that the UK Razerzone storefront was hit with a discount code that offered customers 90% off of products in store. Razer, upon discovering what was going on, shut down the site within hours, but the code had gone viral and thousands of orders went through.

Seeing as the code was created by a third party as a means of testing the site’s shopping cart, and had not been authorized by Razer (it had merely been left in the system in error), the peripheral manufacturer is under no legal obligation to honor any of the orders placed at this monumental discount.

But they’re doing it anyway.

Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer, posted to his Facebook page only hours ago, indicating that, despite the items in question being sold at well below cost, they will honor the affected orders. The only caveat is that they will only honor one of any peripheral ordered by each customer. Duplicates from the same customer will be pared back to a single unit, to combat what were most likely attempts at scalping expensive gaming peripherals.

According to Tan, the orders could take weeks to get out and, in some extreme cases, months, but they will be honored.
