With all the rumors going around about the NGP launch list, it’s nice to have a confirmed title coming to Sony’s new portable platform. The game is called Reality Fighters, and like Little Deviants, it’s another one of those tech-demo-turned-games that is way more fun than you would imagine. Reality Fighters allows you to take a picture of your own face and plaster it onto a model of a fighting game character. The game will allow you to customize your fighting style and your fighter’s appearance before taking the character into a fight against other gamers.  The arena comes straight from reality. Whatever you point the NGP’s camera at becomes the battleground. Your characters can duke it out on a city street, a playground, or even a coffee table if you really want. Screenshots seem to imply that characters will take the height of the various battlegrounds into account, and the camera will track their position even if you move the NGP around the two characters. Now, the game isn’t likely to be accepted by the competitive community, but as a casual game it is one of the most interesting attempts at handheld fighting we have ever seen. |
